Picking up the Baton
Hello everyone,
This is Jieping Li, the new Principal of Westwood Chinese School. Upon 2021-2022 school year is over, I want to thank you for your support to Westwood Chinese School over the past year! Thank you to all the teachers who have worked tirelessly for another year so that students can continue to learn Chinese and other courses during the pandemic. Also, thank the PTO for actively supporting various activities under the leadership of Chairman Wenping Jin.
Congratulations to Principal Yenchu Chen and Treasurer I-Shih Huang on their retirement from WCS! Thanks for their years of effort in forming and managing WCS in the last 13 years. Also congratulations to Operations Manager Helen Gee on her retirement from WCS, thanks for her dedication to operating WCS over the past years. Without their dedication and hard work, WCS would not be where it is today. Let’s wish them to enjoy their retirement from WCS!
Congratulations to those students who graduated from ninth grade, those students who finished the Chinese AP exam, and those students who won the President’s Volunteer Service Award or the Excellence Award! Also, congratulations to all the students who have completed another academic year of Chinese language courses!
I am delighted to announce the three new members of the WCS executive board: Vice Principal Wang Shan, Operations Manager Xianli Wang, and Treasurer Changlin Teng. Thank all of them for their willingness to work hard for the continued prosperity of WCS. Also, thanks to our Technology Manager Bin Ji for continuing to help with course registration and website maintenance. We will work together to serve WCS, continue to grow it, and keep it prosperous.
Course registration for the 2022-2023 academic year has been opened on the website. Please register as soon as possible so that the school can count the number of students in each class and arrange classrooms. The $50 registration fee is waived before 7/31/2022. WCS will resume in person in the fall.
I hope you all have a joyful summer and I look forward to seeing you in the fall!
